No data protection officer has been appointed, as this is not required by law.

2. General information

I process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG) and, for email marketing, the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG 2021). I process only the data needed for the purposes described below. There is no automated decision-making or profiling.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, owner René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place.

To display this website in your browser, the hosting provider processes technically necessary data when you visit, in particular your IP address, the date and time of access, the page requested and information about your browser and operating system. The purpose is to provide the website and keep it secure and stable. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing a secure and stable website).

The creation of server log files is disabled in my hosting account. Where the hosting provider itself stores technical data for a short time for security reasons, its own privacy information applies: https://all-inkl.com/datenschutzinformationen/

4. Fonts, cookies and external resources

All fonts, scripts and images are loaded from my own server. This website does not connect to Google or other third-party providers when you visit it. It does not use cookies or similar technologies that require consent, and it uses no tracking or analytics.

5. Contact form and email

If you contact me via the contact form or by email, I process the data you provide (email address, message and, if given, your name) and the time of your message, in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry concerns a contract or steps before entering into one, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries).

The contact form is processed on my own server and sent to me by email. It is not stored in a database, and no third-party services are involved.

6. Newsletter

Data processed:

• Email address
• Name (optional)
• Time of signup and confirmation
• IP address at signup and confirmation

The purpose is to send you news about Kaanopus, including the launch of editions and related offers.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 174 TKG 2021). Signup uses a double opt-in: you receive an email and are subscribed only after you click the confirmation link. I keep the signup and confirmation data as proof of your consent (Art. 7(1) GDPR).

If open and click tracking is enabled, it is covered by your consent to the newsletter. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, via the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to info@kaanopus.com. After you unsubscribe, your email address remains on a suppression list so that you are not added again by mistake (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The signup form is a page hosted by MailerLite. No MailerLite code is loaded on this website. When you open the signup page, MailerLite processes technical data such as your IP address.

Newsletter delivery and the signup form are provided by MailerLite Limited, 88 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2, D02 DK18, Ireland. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place. MailerLite may use sub-processors outside the EU (for example in the USA); such transfers are based on Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).

7. Social media links

This website contains plain links to social media platforms (for example TikTok and Instagram). No personal data is transmitted to these providers when you visit this website. Their privacy policies apply only once you click a link.

8. Data retention

• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe; afterwards only your email address on the suppression list and the proof of your former consent, for as long as legal claims are possible (generally up to three years).
• Contact enquiries: until your enquiry has been dealt with, then deleted unless they relate to a contract.
• Server log files: not created (see section 3).

Data needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims may be kept longer, but only for that purpose.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

Please send requests to info@kaanopus.com. I respond within one month (Art. 12(3) GDPR) and may ask you to confirm your identity.

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR, § 24 DSG). In Austria this is:

10. Minors

The newsletter is intended for persons aged 14 or older. I do not knowingly collect data from children under 14. If you believe a child under 14 has provided data to me, please write to me and I will delete it.

11. Changes
